Uber Green Debuts In Luxembourg

With Uber Green, the company aims to cut fossil fuel emissions, improve air quality, and reduce the carbon footprint of urban transportation.

Uber has launched Uber Green in Luxembourg, offering fully electric rides and supporting its global pledge to achieve zero emissions by 2040.

Uber has officially launched Uber Green in Luxembourg, introducing a new ride option featuring 100% electric vehicles available directly through the Uber app. Starting today, riders across the country can choose a more sustainable way to travel at no extra cost compared to UberX.

“It aligns perfectly with the country’s forward-thinking stance on sustainable mobility.”

“Launching Uber Green in Luxembourg is an exciting milestone,” said Laurent Slits, Uber’s Director for Luxembourg. “It aligns perfectly with the country’s forward-thinking stance on sustainable mobility. We’re proud to support this vision by offering cleaner travel options for residents and visitors alike.”

Luxembourg joins a growing list of European cities embracing Uber Green, further solidifying Uber’s commitment to greener urban mobility. But this launch is just the latest in a series of strategic moves by the company to strengthen its presence in the Grand Duchy. In May 2024, Uber partnered with local operator WEBTAXI to offer ride-hailing services via its app. Then in July, the firm expanded further by introducing Uber Eats in Luxembourg City and Esch-sur-Alzette, with nearly 200 restaurant partners.
